La Candelaria: Where Color Became Couture
The Grand Tour Journal – By Ellen, Founder of Stella & Bone
Some places stay with you long after you've returned home.
For me, Bogotá was one of those places.
While exploring the historic streets of La Candelaria, I found myself stopping every few steps—not because I had planned to, but because there was always something extraordinary waiting around the next corner. Vibrant murals stretched across historic buildings, colorful cafés lined the cobblestone streets, and every neighborhood seemed to tell its own story through art.
It wasn't simply beautiful.
It was fearless.
The colors were unapologetically bold. The artwork celebrated history, culture, and individuality in a way that felt completely authentic. Walking through La Candelaria reminded me that true beauty often comes from places that embrace their own unique character.

Travel has always been one of my greatest sources of inspiration.
Every destination offers something different—architecture, landscapes, culture, or unexpected moments that linger in your memory long after the journey ends. Those experiences often influence the way I curate collections for Stella & Bone.
While visiting Bogotá, I found myself drawn to the rich crimson tones woven throughout the city's murals, textiles, and artistic expression. Years later, when I discovered this stunning crimson gown, I immediately thought of La Candelaria.
Its dramatic silhouette, shimmering sequins, and bold statement bow captured the same confidence I experienced while wandering those remarkable streets.

One of the things I love most about travel is that inspiration rarely comes from the places you expect.
Sometimes it's a famous landmark.
Sometimes it's a quiet café.
Sometimes it's a conversation with a local.
And sometimes it's simply standing in front of a mural, realizing that color can tell a story just as powerfully as words.
That philosophy has become part of Stella & Bone.
Every collection is thoughtfully curated to reflect the beauty, history, and character of inspiring destinations around the world. Some are places I've been fortunate enough to visit myself. Others are remarkable destinations whose architecture, culture, and timeless elegance continue to inspire me from afar.
La Candelaria will always hold a special place among those destinations.
It reminds me that confidence doesn't whisper.
It speaks boldly.

That same spirit inspired La Candelaria, one of Stella & Bone's boldest couture collections.
The rich crimson palette reflects the vibrant energy of Bogotá's artistic heart, while the dramatic layers and elegant details celebrate a dog with a personality every bit as unforgettable as the city itself.
